Challenge

Allianz was named the world’s number-one insurer according to the 2022 Best Global Brands Ranking.


For their internal and external communication, they decided to show off what makes up Allianz as a company: the people. They called their agents to record videos for social media, around which an intro and outro animation would build a frame.

Process

Creating a stop-motion intro and outro to be the key visual of the campaign.


We planned the full animation frame by frame, deciding which elements needed to move or evolve at specific moments. We used this plan as a rough storyboard for the digital animation that helped us define the motion design of the physical piece and translate eased movements and speed ramping into frame-by-frame. To capture even the smallest details of the movements right, the digital animatic provided a template, using screen grabs as an overlay for each frame to be shot.

Prototyping The shape of the number 1 was built from scratch, combining both rounded and pointy edges while adhering firmly to its geography and offering enough surface for all paper elements and objects. The many different colors and shapes, some of them carrying a unique texture, represent the diversity of the agents, the people, and the core of the company.
Solution

An animation that displays the many different people coming together from around the world to make up the “#1 company”.
